May 19, 2005: Arlington/Alexandria for Democracy Endorses David Englin for Delegate
As the local Democracy for America group in the Arlington and Alexandria area, our involvement in the 45th District House of Delegates race this year is very relevant. The 45th District includes much of Alexandria as well as parts of Arlington and Fairfax Counties.
We are currently completing our endorsement process for whether we will support a particular candidate in the Democratic primary as an organization. Please check back regularly for additional information about the candidates and our recommendations in this race. You may wish to read the candidates' responses to our questionnaire.
Do you live in the 45th District?
Since we plan to endorse soon (before our next Meetup), please register on the new forums I've set up and participate in an online discussion about this race and the candidates! There is a public forum that is readable and open for posting by anyone, as well as a "members only" forum that is only available after you register and I add you to our Arlington/Alexandria for Democracy group.
We recently recommended attending the ACDC candidate forum at the Fairlington Community Center. Several of us did, and we found it very worthwhile. We apologize to anyone who went to the wrong location due to our mistake; two of three candidate websites listed the address for the North Fairlington Community Center, rather than the South Fairlington Community Center where it was held.
Since the next candidate forum may be in several weeks, we would suggest checking with each candidate about upcoming events you could attend to meet him or her or ask if there's another way you could get to talk to them about their candidacies!
